Our Energy Hubs
Our Power Plants
First Independent Power Limited is a company in the business of power generation in Nigeria located in Rivers State. We own and operate 4 gas turbine power plants within Rivers State located in Trans-Amadi Port-Harcourt, Afam, Omoku and Eleme. FIPL currently has a combined installed capacity of 541MW.
How We Power Nigeria
Our approach ensures every project is executed with precision, safety, and sustainability at the core.

Gas Supply
Our power generation process begins with a reliable supply of natural gas delivered through dedicated pipeline infrastructure. This fuel serves as the primary energy source, ensuring efficient, stable, and continuous electricity production.
GT Operations
At the heart of our plant are advanced Gas Turbines (GTs), where natural gas is combusted to produce mechanical energy. This energy drives generators that convert it into electrical power with high efficiency and operational reliability.

Voltage Step-Up
The electricity generated is passed through step-up transformers that increase the voltage for efficient long-distance transmission. This minimizes energy losses and ensures power is delivered safely across the transmission network.
Connecting to the National Grid
The stepped-up electricity is transmitted through high-voltage transmission lines and integrated into the national grid, supplying homes, industries, businesses, and essential services with dependable power.
